remembering today the wonderful nettle soup Hans used to make at this time of year .  He loved  to make it for guests and would ask them to guess what kind of soup it was.  Most people guessed spinach and pronounced it delicious.  Some would look horrified when told the key ingredient but most were intrigued. 

planted a rowan tree in the front garden this week, i wonder how big the one in the Communal garden is now, tenyears on.  How the birds are enjoying the berries.
